"Plumbing leaks' under my slab are ruining my house!"
An Austin, Texas, homeowner was noticeably upset when talking to our Atlas Dealer. It
seems that the old cast-iron sewer line under the home had deteriorated. A plumbing
contractor confirmed that multiple leads were evident.
The homeowner went on to say that large cracks started appearing in the interior of the
home, doors would not close, light was visible between the outside door and the frame at
the rear of the house, and cracks had appeared in the concrete slab. Could the home be
saved?
Our Atlas Dealer
installed 25 ATLAS RESISTANCE PIERS around the perimeter of the foundation. Not
only did the ATLAS RESISTANCE PIERS provide stabilization, the piers were used to
raise the foundation as much as 3-1/4 inches to restore the house to as close to the
original evaluation as the construction would allow.
THE SOLUTION: ATLAS RESISTANCE PIERS!
STABILIZED AND RESTORED THE HOUSE!

Atlas Resistance Piers
Lift Force vs. Drive Force & Ultimate

The chart above shows the ultimate pier capacity is over four times
the average pier load. The average driving force is over 60 percent above the
average pier load.

This 35-year-old-house is constructed upon a
steel-reinforced concrete slab with a turned down footing at the perimeter. The exterior
has masonry on the front and wood siding on all other sides.
ATLAS RESISTANCE PIERS were installed around the perimeter on
approximately eight-foot centers in order to stabilize the structure. The piers were
driven to a bearing stratum of reported weathered limestone at a depth of approximately
eight feet. The restoration process removed up to 3-1/4 inches of settlement!
This photograph shows the closing of a 1-3/4
inch gap at the garage as the foundation was restored.
